Install and use ATLAS.ti on multiple devices
Can I use ATLAS.ti on several different computers or laptops?
Key takeaways
- You can install ATLAS.ti for Windows or Mac on multiple devices, but usage is limited by the number of license seats available.
- If your license provides one seat, ATLAS.ti can only be used on one device at a time.
- You can learn more about ATLAS.ti concurrent seats system here.
ATLAS.ti Licenses are not fixed to a single computer
ATLAS.ti licenses are not tied to a single computer, so you can install the desktop software on multiple devices if needed. For example, you might install ATLAS.ti on your office computer and on your laptop. Latest installation files for ATLAS.ti (Windows/Mac) are available at my.atlasti.com

You can install ATLAS.ti Software on as many devises as you wish. The installation process itself does not require a license - only the use of ATLAS.ti and its tools rely on you having an active license.
Please note that the number of devices that can be used at the same time depends on the number of license seats included in your license. Each time ATLAS.ti is opened, one seat is occupied for as long as the software remains in use.
Example
If your license provides 1 seat, ATLAS.ti can only be used on one device at a time. You may still install the software on multiple computers, but you must close it on one device before opening it on another.
If your license provides 5 seats, up to 5 users or devices can run ATLAS.ti simultaneously.

ATLAS.ti Web Installation
ATLAS.ti Web (web.atlasti.com) runs directly in your browser and does not require installation. Just like with the application, ATLAS.ti Web can only be actively used on one device at a time per seat. To continue working on another device, simply close the session on the first one by closing the browser tab where ATLAS.ti Web is opened.
Projects are not License
The Licenses only provide access to ATLAS.ti Software, but they do not store your projects. Change of licenses will not affect your projects.
ATLAS.ti Web projects are saved automatically and are connected to your account. They can be accessed at web.atlasti.com
ATLAS.ti Desktop projects are stored only locally on your computer. You can simply install the application to see the list of projects stored locally.

Adding More Seats
If you need to work from multiple locations at the same time, or if several people share the same license, you can increase the number of available seats by purchasing additional licenses. These seats are added to your license pool, allowing more users or devices to use ATLAS.ti simultaneously.
