Does the free trial license have restrictions?


Yes. The trial license is for evaluation purposes to allow you to try and test the software before you purchase a license. It is not meant and does not support use the application for your daily work or for your studies.

During the ATLAS.ti free trial you get full access to all features across Windows, Mac, and Web versions, but with a few practical limits:

  • AI Coding, AI Summaries, and Conversational AI are available during the trial, but there is a word limit for AI analysis (approximately 6,000–12,000 words).
  • The trial does not include free AI transcription minutes, though purchased minutes can be used.

After the trial period has expired, you will no longer be able to save or export your projects.
