How can I use AI Summaries in ATLAS.ti Windows/Mac?

Use AI Summaries to make sense of your text

Large data sets like interview transcripts, field notes, and journal articles can take time to read and even more time to understand, code, and analyze. AI Summaries can provide you with a concise description of your documents, which can guide you with coding and analyzing your data faster.

AI Summaries is available on our Windows and Mac platforms. AI Summaries sends your data safely and securely to OpenAI's cloud-based language models and allows you to continue your work while your summaries are generated in the background. Summaries are stored as memos which are linked to your respective documents.

To use AI Summaries in ATLAS.ti Mac:

Select AI Summaries from the Analysis menu.
Select Documents or Codes depending on what you want to code.
If you select Documents, choose the documents and document groups you want to summarize. If you select Codes, choose the codes and codes groups you want to summarize.
Click on Summarize. You will receive an estimate of the required time to generate summaries, which is dependent on the size of the data AI Summaries will process.
Toggle the checkbox to agree to the license agreement and privacy policy and click on Confirm.
While you are waiting, you are free to perform other tasks on your project.

When AI Summaries is complete, it will open a dialog box showing you the summaries for each document or code you selected. You can review and edit each summary in the dialog box. You can also find your summaries in the Memo Manager.
