How can I use the Opinion Mining tool?
Opinion Mining is an AI tool that identifies sentiments in concepts. This tool automatically applies codes relevant to concepts and sentiments to your data that can be used for richer analysis.
There are several ways how you can use Opinion Mining tools on ATLAS.ti 23 Windows:
- Select the Search & Code tab and from there Opinion Mining.
- Open the Document or Code Manager, select one or more entities and select Analyze then Opinion Mining in the ribbon.
- or From the dropdown menu on the top left select where you want to search (documents, document groups, codes or code groups). Then select one or multiple documents, document groups, codes, or code groups, select Analysis then Opinion Mining.
On ATLAS.ti 23 Mac:
- From the main menu select Analysis then Opinion Mining.
- Or from the dropdown menu on the top left select where you want to search (documents, document groups, codes or code groups). Then select one or multiple documents, document groups, codes, or code groups. Then select Analysis and then "Show Opinion Mining"
The preliminary results will show keywords from the data with positive sentiments on the left side and keywords with negative elements on the right side. Each keyword displays a series of columns representing a phrase containing the keyword and showing how often the phrase appears in the data.
Clicking on a respective keyword shows the relevant quotations with their proposed codes. You can toggle the proposed codes to apply them or apply your own codes as desired.
